DECISION MAKING
What is a process of Decision Making
Good decisions are made easier if everyone involved in the process use a defined and known model of Decision Making.
A valid method of Decision Making is to respond to a sufficient number of questions, to ensure that there are no significant omissions, so that all relevant aspects are taken into account.
Why use a process of Decision Making
An effective Decision Making process, which uses appropriate methods of analysis, will provide:
Models to deal with complex problems;
Basic elements for making decisions;
Uniformity in the process of Decision Making;
Objectivity;
Deductions, documented criteria and values to make decisions;
Decisions proposed again, reviewable, adjustable and easy to understand.
Where and when use a process of Decision Making
The use of this process of Decision Making, and the related methods of support, are recommended in particular in all those decisions that:
Require multiple reviews at various managerial levels;
Concern multiple projects;
Require new loans or redirection of funds;
Present alternatives with very high technical risks;
Require if it is necessary to review or finish a project;
Have a significant impact on the company future;
Involve many participants or participants in competition.
